Mark di Suvero: Lithographs

January 23 – March 15, 2027
Lithograph-focused Exhibition of the Acclaimed Sculptor Opens During San Francisco Art Week 2027

Nelson Duni is pleased to present Mark di Suvero: Lithographs, an exhibition of one of the most influential artists of the Postwar era. Opening during San Francisco Art Week and concurrent with FOG Design+Art, the exhibition offers a selection of lithographs spanning 50 years of di Suvero's career, accompanied by several sculptures from the artist’s private collection.

Internationally celebrated for his monumental steel sculptures, Mark di Suvero has spent more than six decades exploring movement, structure, improvisation, and space. His large-scale public sculptures are landmarks around the world, while his printmaking, less widely known, has remained an essential and enduring part of his practice. Through the lithographic medium, di Suvero explores color and form that focus on his sculptural language. The lithographs reveal an energy of play and structural intelligence that define the sculptures, and offer an intimate view into the artist's process and imagination.

Born in Shanghai to Italian parents, di Suvero immigrated with his family to San Francisco in 1941. The Bay Area played a formative role in his development before he moved to New York and emerged as one of the defining figures of contemporary sculpture. Throughout his career, he has been a committed advocate for peace, artistic freedom, and public access to art, helping establish artist-led organizations and public sculpture initiatives that continue to support future generations of artists.

The exhibition is accompanied by the publication of the first catalog of Mark di Suvero's prints. The publication contains observations on this body of work and offers a resource for collectors, curators, and researchers.

Presented in collaboration with the artist, his studio Spacetime C.C., Jungle Press Editions, and Atelier Franck Bordas, the catalog and exhibition bring together key partners who have helped preserve, publish, and advance the legacy of di Suvero's graphic work.
